A Fresh Start

Hey there, I'm Alex White, creator of We Own Our Tech. I've gone back and forth on what I want this to be: a blog, a wiki, forums, IRC or something else entirely. I've finally landed on the lowest barrier to entry, a self-hosted Ghost powered blog. Why? Because the most important thing is getting the message out there, not the how.

Bring Technology Back to the People

I created We Own Our Tech to help people escape big tech. I want to show others how to self-host rather than be chained to subscription fees, how to repair older technology rather than upgrade, how to own media and software rather than rent and how to give large corporations less personal information from them to use against you.

What's all this going to look like? I'm not entirely sure, but for now it will be posts and guides on using technology that supports you, not controls you.

This is a Community Effort
